Bracket Type

Shape of the tournament ladder (aka Brackets) shown in the HTML Schedule Div element of the branded page, selected from a list. 'Single Elimination' means the classic tournament draw, where participants are eliminated the first time they lose.

In a 'Double Elimination' draw, participants are transferred to a secondary draw the first time they lose, and may continue to progress from there. This means that:

  • Participants are only ever eliminated after they lose the second time.
  • A participant that loses a match can still go on to win the tournament.
  • The 'final' match may need to be played twice. For example, if finalist 'A' (who has not yet lost) is beaten by finalist 'B' (who has lost once). In this case both finalists have lost once, so a rematch is required.
Match Type Match type, selected from a list: 'Best of Five', 'Best of Three', 'Score'.
Conflict Type Conflict type, selected from a list: 'Players Grouped Into Teams' (where teams are automatically allocated individual players by the tournament), 'Players Vs Players', 'Teams Vs Teams'.
Maximum Signups The maximum number of participants that can join the tournament, which may be dependent on the Bracket Type and other parameter values.
Players Per Team Value '1' if the tournament is for individual players only.
Event Pairing Type Event pairing type or rule, selected from a list. Determines how participants are paired up into matches. 'Random Pairing' matches participants with random opponents. 'Slaughter Pairing' matches participants with very unequal abilities in the early rounds.
Seeding Algorithm Seeding algorithm or rule, selected from a list. Determines how participants are seeded or ranked. 'Alphabetic' simply ranks them by their name. 'Random' ranks them randomly. 'Sequential' ranks them in the order in which they joined the tournament. At a future date, options will be available to ranks participants based on their historical performance.
Password Password for distribution to participants, that allows them to join the tournament.
Period Tournament Start Date/Time and End Date/Time.
Repeating ESport Tournament If ticked, indicates that the tournament repeats with the given parameters. For example, to run only on weekends, set the 'Duration' to 2 days and the 'gap' to 6 (and set the 'Start Date/Time' to a Saturday).
Live Flag (shown at the bottom of the screen) If ticked, indicates that the ESport Tournament is available to run.
