Payment method characteristics

The cost, security and characteristics of payment methods need to be considered when making them available on the platform. For example:

eWallet services such as Neteller and Skrill have a relatively high usage charge of around 3%, but have the advantage that funds are cleared instantly to the platform owner's wallet and can therefore be used straight away to make payments.

Credit card usage charges are lower, but funds typically take 7 to 10 days to clear, so there is an associated credit risk, and there may be a requirement for alternative short term funding.

Note that to mitigate these and other issues, it is possible to apply a Wagering Requirement to an individual payment method in the View Payment Method details screen. Read about Wagering requirements for further information on this subject.
