Wagering requirements

A wagering requirement (WR) is the number of times a bonus or payment must be staked before it can be withdrawn.

For bonuses, this is typically set at 25. In practice, therefore, a seemingly generous 'bonus' is rarely converted into cash in hand. The WR also applies to any winnings that may derive from a bonus.

The default WR can be also be increased for specific games if it is otherwise possible to quickly fulfill a wagering requirement with little risk, for example a game of roulette where the player is not prevented from betting on red and black at the same time. WRs may also be applied to player payments, for a number of reasons. For example, to prevent the withdrawal of un-played deposits in support of anti money laundering policies, or for a specific payment method, if that method is particularly costly to the operator.
